Nassau, The Bahamas

Nassau was our second stop on our first Cruise in 2012.

Josh and I weren't big fans of Nassau for a few reasons but I think we would have enjoyed our time there more if we had booked a day in Atlantis.  If we ever go back, this is what we'll do.  I wouldn't recommend trying to do Nassau on your own like we did.  I do, however, recommend spending some time at Senor Frogs before you leave!  It really is as crazy and fun as everyone says!  We spent a good part of our day here and it really did save the day for us!

When we arrived on the island, we figured we'd just find a beach, but that didn't happen.  So, we caught a taxi with some other cruisers and figured we'd go to Atlantis and just purchase an excursion there.  Well, after standing in a line that literally did not move for 30 minutes we just figured we'd ask where a public beach is and go there.

We were told that there was one right next to Atlantis, so that's where we went.  And since Josh had never haggled before, he payed way to much for some loungers and umbrellas.  The beach was pretty though and we spent a few hours there before we decided we needed food.  Plus we were pretty much the only people on this beach and it felt kind of weird.

We left the beach and caught another taxi at Atlantis and had him take us to Senor Frogs, which happened to be a short walk from where we were docked.  Also, we were so mad when we found out that there is a public beach right behind Senor Frogs.   We had some great food and a few drinks and just hung out at Senor Frogs for the rest of the afternoon.  We also had the best waitress and I definitely wrote an email to them about how great she was.  She told us she'd only been there for about a month.

We thought the Disney ship looked so neat!  We'll definitely be checking out Disney Cruises in the future!

Overall, we weren't too crazy about Nassau and if we went back we'd definitely book a day at Atlantis and then just hit up Senor Frogs again for some food before getting back on our ship.

#MCM

Today is Monday, which on Instagram means it's #MCM or Man Crush Monday.  So, today I'm treating my readers to some photos of ...

David Boreanaz/Booth
I love David Boreanaz as Booth!  The sexy FBI agent thing works for him.  And the character is the perfect blend of cheesy and badass.

David Paetkau/Sam Braddock
I mean, just look at him!  and watch Flashpoint!  His character, Sam is so hot.   If you haven't figured it out, guys with guns really do it for me, haha!

David Beckham
.... The.Tattoos.

Chace Crawford
I know he was in gossip girl but I first thought he was really pretty in "what to expect when you're expecting".

Chad Michael Murray
I've just always thought he was really cute, and probably always will.  I've heard he's an ass, but he's a cute one.

... you're welcome.  Happy Monday :)

Being a Humane Consumer: Make-up

Today, I am going to share some makeup product lines that are cruelty-free.  Just as an FYI, I don't wear makeup at all due to my own personal opinions about health and chemicals, ect.  So, all the products I've listed here are just what I know people seem to like - I have no personal experience with them.

Urban Decay

Now Urban Decay is kind of tricky.  Technically Urban Decay products are cruelty-free, however I would not buy the product because the parent company test on animals.  So, even though this particular line is Cruelty-Free, the whole company is not ... if that makes sense.

Some others that I've heard of that are on the list are:

After Glow Cosmetics: Also Organic

Kiss My Face:  This is a fairly common brand that I've heard good things about

These are just a few that I've heard of that are on the leaping bunny list which you can check out here.

As I said before, I don't wear any makeup so I don't have personal experience with any of these.  Try any brand you think you'll like, but there are definitely a good bit of options for cosmetics.

Where to Go??

Josh and  I have decided that our next cruise is going to be a European cruise.  That's actually a lie ... we may do an Alaskan cruise in 2015, or we may go to Disney.   However, we are definitely doing a European Cruise in 2016, and we want to book as soon as dates are available.  The main cruise line we are looking at is Celebrity since Casey gave it such great reviews.  The other is Norwegian.  The maps I'm about to show you are all from Celebrity, but NCL has basically the same ones.  Our choices are:

Right now our top 3 are: the last one (because Josh wants to go to Rome), the second one, and the fourth one.

If you have any experience with any of these places, I'd love to hear your opinion!  Or which one would you choose if given the chance?

Half Moon Cay, The Bahamas

One of the stops on our Cruise in 2012 was to Carnivals Island, Half Moon Cay.  Josh and I loved our day here and would definitely love to go back :).  It's also where we got engaged, so maybe we're a bit biased ;)

The Island was absolutely beautiful!  It is also where we did both of our excursions. We went Horseback Riding on the beach, something that I've always wanted to do and it definitely lived up to my expectations!  We even got to ride in the water!  Our second excursion was Kayaking.  We enjoyed it but our guide was pretty much useless.

We used a disposable waterproof camera for the excursions so the photos are pretty bad, but that's OK.  For our next cruise we're buying a digital waterproof camera.

It was actually really cloudy and a bit rainy when we got there.  Luckily it cleared up about 10 minutes before our first excursion and ended up being a beautiful day! :)

Josh and I rode in the water separately so we could take pictures of each other.  Josh is in the back in the red shorts.

I am on the white horse in this photo.

After our excursions we spent the rest of the time relaxing at the beach and playing in the beautiful water :)

We loved Half Moon Cay and would definitely like to return!  The other plus was that all food was free because it's Carnivals Island, so the price is included in your cruise price!  If you ever find yourself here, definitely do the Horseback riding excursion!  The guides were great and it was so much fun!
